The California Community Colleges’ Salary Surfer website is now even more useful for students and families.

We’ve recently updated the Salary Surfer website to add more than 100 new career highlight videos to help students and families visualize a future in various careers, including career education fields.

These short two-minute, documentary-style videos feature footage of real students participating in hands-on learning in a variety of career fields ranging from aeronautics and aviation to veterinary technology, and include interviews with career education instructors and program graduates.

Students can also see which colleges offer programs in which disciplines.

The website also has data on the salaries of California community college graduates up to five years after obtaining specific certificates or degrees, thus allowing students and their families to evaluate the economic returns for various majors.

The Salary Surfer website is a valuable tool helping students and their families make important decisions about investing valuable time and money in a community college education.

You can visit the updated Salary Surfer website to learn more. Alternatively, please feel free to contact us at salarysurfer@cccco.edu if you have additional questions or need more information.

Another resource to aid students and families is the annual Strong Workforce Stars recognition. This program highlights specific career education programs within California’s community college system that have met criteria proven to advance personal social mobility, such as a significant increase in earnings, earning the regional living wage and securing  a job closely related  to students’ field of study. The 2018 honorees will be announced in June.
